(1967 - 1994) Kurt Donald Cobain was born on February 20, 1967 in Aberdeen, Washington. When he was a child, he was prescribed to a morphine based drug because he was hyperactive. The drug helped him concentrate in school. Many times the medicine made him stay up until to 4 am, so the gave him sedatives so he can get some sleep. Kurt's life became unstable when he was seven because his parents got divorced and he was very unhappy. He moved back and forth with his mom and dad and in the end they didn't want him so he lived with relatives and friends, and at once he lived under a bridge. A lot of this, Kurt mentions in his lyrics. Kurt hated school, mainly because he hated the macho men that picked on him (once he got beat up at one of his early gigs by a macho man and he has songs that talk about macho men getting beat up), and he usually was around the girls. Kurt liked to paint and sing, a lot of times the boys tried to hang out with Kurt to get near the girls but Kurt says he hated their guts. Even in one of his interviews he says, "I always considered macho men to be a threat to me." In 1986 Kurt was introduced to Krist Novoselic who worked at Taco Bell then, and they started Nirvana. After many drummers, the finally got Dave Grohl. They then released Bleach in 1989. It didn't make much. But in 1991 Nirvana released Nevermind which sold $1,000,000 in the first month. Kurt thought it would do good and then every one would forgot about it, but when Kurt noticed he was on MTV he knew they would do a lot better. Kurt didn't like the idea of being famous. Many times at his shows, he told people to stop buying their CDs, and he rarely played "Smells Like Teen Spirit" because he didn't like the commercial part of Nirvana. Kurt became depressed and started using drugs like morphine and heroin. And at this point he described himself as suicidal. On January 24, 1992, Kurt got married to Courtney Love who was in the film industry and had her own band "Hole". And on August 18, 1992 they had Frances Bean Cobain. Nirvana was also sued that month for using tabs from Killing Joke - Eighties. Nirvana's 3rd album "Incesticide", was the kind of album like Bleach. They used the album to get rid of the false fans who only liked "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and it did. In the beginning of 1993 they recorded what was to be their last studio recorded album, In Utero. This album was recorded in two weeks, but wasn’t released for another six months, due the work-title "I Hate Myself And I Want To Die. This title reflects the fact of Kurt being suicidal. When Kurt was on a seminar in July 1993 he overdosed on heroin. Courtney injected him with an illegal drug to save him. Later that same day he went on stage and played a concert, no one noticed anything. From now Kurt’s drug abuse was starting to get out of hand. Courtney threatened several times to divorce him if he did not get treatment for his abuse. He agreed to get treatment for his abuse, but didn’t last long at the rehab center. He later escaped from this center although it was voluntary. He said this was a place for retards or something. It wasn’t a proper place for him to be. In the beginning of 1993 Nirvana played an MTV unplugged concert, and they played what was to be their final concert in Munich 29th Mars 1994. One week later Kurt was hospitalized in a coma. The next day he awoke and asked for a milkshake. After a few days he left the hospital by his own will. Kurt disappears after this and is reported missing by his wife. She also hires a private investigator to trace him, she fears that he might show up dead. On
April 8th, 1994, Kurt Cobain was found dead in his house by an electrician.
He reported that it looked like it was a self inflicted shot gun wound in
the head. Two days after there were a memorial where Courtney read a part
from his suicide note. Kurt had said earlier that same year that he never
expected to reach the age of 30. Unfortunately he was right. He became a
rock legend like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison. They all were

Kurt only listened to stuff liked the Beatles and the Monkees but when his
dad joined a record-club he started listening to stuff like Kiss, Led
Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Sex Pistols. When Kurt was 14, he got his first
guitar and he tried to create his own music style. He was also a roadie for
a underground band called the Melvins.
